Want to Develop your Career in HR or L&D?

What are your career goals? Many of the candidates we speak to want to develop their career in HR or L&D. Some are at the start of their journey and not sure how to get on the career ladder. And some are highly experienced HR or L&D professionals with many years experience. Wherever you are in your career, we can help. If you prefer not to attend classes at fixed times and are happy with a supported distance learning approach which is mainly competence assessed, along with research and assignments, then our mixed mode programmes may be just what you need to take the next step in your career.

Foundation levels – aimed at HR or Training Administrator level. You will either be working in a role already or aiming to do so in the near future. You will draw on your existing experience as well as learning about new areas for you. If you aren’t in a role yet, you can still get started – just having this qualification on your CV will help to demonstrate to recruiters that you are serious about your career in HR or L&D.

Intermediate levels – aimed at HR or L&D Managers. You will have some experience at this level and most likely will be working in an HR or L&D management role at the moment. Some candidates are in between roles. Some are not in traditional HR or L&D roles but need to learn more about these areas to develop in their existing positions because their roles are changing or they are taking on more responsibility. You will need to gather evidence to demonstrate your competence for each unit, research each topic and write up an assignment. Some topics will be quite new to you and some you will be very comfortable with – you can choose from any of the CIPD units that are available on any of our programmes.

Advanced levels – aimed at senior HR or L&D managers or directors. You will be most likely be working at this level with many years experience. You will be confident enough to sit exams and work at a Masters level so you will probably have a degree but this doesn’t have to be recent. Many of our candidates are mature students who want to achieve Chartered CIPD membership. You can apply to be a Chartered Member of the CIPD once you have completed the Advanced Diploma in HR or L&D.
