Does CIPD increase salary?  What is the real value of a CIPD qualification?  And is it worth the cost?  Should you invest?

The CIPD has issued some figures from recent research about this to help us to answer these questions.  Here’s a few things from the CIPD’s findings:

  • People professionals with a CIPD qualification could earn on average +12% more than those without *
  • A CIPD qualification increases your salary potential for HR admin level roles by up to +£5,600 *
  • HR roles requesting a CIPD qualification pay up to +£4,400 more *
  • CIPD certification was the most-requested certification across all HR jobs *
  • CIPD Chartered Membership increases earning potential by an average of £9,900 *
  • CIPD Chartered Membership is the most common CIPD membership asked for in all HR job posts
  • At least 276 companies in 2022/23 asked for candidates with CIPD membership
  • CIPD Chartered Membership increases earning potential by up to +£17,200 for HR manager-level roles
  • CIPD Associate Membership could increase earning potential by up to £4,400 *
