We’re helping to offset our impact on the environment

AheadHR delivers CIPD qualification programmes online to learners throughout the UK along with a small number of international students.  As part of our vision, we want our learning to improve wider society and have been wondering how we might in our small way be able to help contribute to the environment.  Although we all work from home and travel is limited, we are all still using power to run webinars, 121 calls etc and we thought it would be lovely to try in some small way to offset that so that we do our part to help with a sustainable future.

We researched a number of options that are available and there are some exciting opportunities to take part in projects that we believe will do a little bit of good.  They range from UK based to global projects.   We particularly liked Ecologi because they began in Bristol with a group of brave environmentalists and they demonstrate what amazing things small teams can achieve.  They have a range of projects globally which I believe we will all find something that we connect with.

We decided to start off by planting 100 trees.   So we are starting to plant an AheadHR forest 🙂

Going forward, we can add trees any time, perhaps as part of a special project, event or occasion.  We will certainly be planting a tree for every learner who completes one of our CIPD programmes.

We can’t wait to watch our little forest grow and see how our little CIPD study centre is helping people around the world.
