Taster Units

Not sure if you want to do a full Certificate or Diploma programme?  We offer single taster units so that you can study one topic before committing to the full programme.

You will have a number of choices depending on your level of study and experience and when you want to begin.

For example, you can:

Choose Your Topic

Pick a subject you wish to develop further.  Let us know and we can advise you when it is next scheduled to run.  You will study exactly the same CIPD accredited units and sit the assignment which will be moderated by the CIPD.  You can then continue with your studies immediately afterwards or come back at a later date.  Your unit will go towards your full Diploma or Certificate programme when you are ready to commit to that as long as you work within the rules of the CIPD qualifications.

Regular Taster Units

We run some of the more popular units such as Employment Law periodically to allow you to boost your knowledge, develop your career and enhance your CV.  You can study the unit standalone and gain an AheadHR Award in your chosen topic.  If you continue with other units to complete your Diploma, this will count towards your qualification as long as you work within the rules of the CIPD programmes.

Group or 121

You may have the choice of doing your chosen unit with a small group or on a 121 basis depending on when you want to start.  The 121 route is more expensive because you will need to have additional coaching from your tutor.  The group approach allows you to network with other learners and develop your knowledge and work collaboratively with students from other organisations.  The options you have will vary throughout the year so let us know if you’d like to find out more about this approach.
