What has been the main impact on YOU from studying for your CIPD qualification?

The CIPD study has strengthened my confidence and improved the quality of my work. From knowing where to refer to when I need complex answers and advice to developing my HR knowledge in greater depth.

What has been the main impact on YOUR CAREER from studying your CIPD qualification?

It has enhanced my professional credibility and strengthened my HR practice. The skills and insights I gained have helped me approach my role with more structure, confidence, improving the quality of the support and guidance I provide in my organisation and interactions.

What has been the main impact on YOUR ORGANISATION from studying your CIPD qualification?

My studies have enhanced the HR support I provide, leading to more consistent processes, clearer guidance for managers and stronger people practices.

What did you like MOST about the course?

I found the formative feedback the most valuable aspect of the course. The clear, practical comments helped me understand exactly how to improve and being able to refer back to them made each assignment easier.

What did you like LEAST about the course?

At times, the workshops were less effective when some participants didn’t attend or contribute fully. It occasionally limited the level of discussion and collaboration, which are important parts of the learning experience.

Thanks for letting us know about this – we cap numbers to ensure a friendly, interactive learning environment and speak to all learners before we enrol anyone so we can balance groups and encourage students to engage with the live learning opportunities. We are constantly reviewing our courses and we optimise group sizes for example attendance can be impacted at holiday times. We have changed how we manage group numbers over the past year on Level 5 and 7 in particular and recent learner feedback implies it’s working well but we’ll keep an eye out for this.

What would have most helped to improve your experience?

My experience would have been improved by more consistent participation and engagement in the workshops but this is not a reflection on the course itself as the tutors can only do so much plus I can understand conflicting schedules etc.

Thanks Anna – yes we agree – you were in one of the earlier cohorts on this programme and I think we have the balance working better now and we will constantly review this. Most of our live webinars are lively and interactive now even on the smaller groups. We know from experience that the learners who gain the most impact from their course are the ones who engage with the live sessions, complete formative work and embrace the 121 coaching sessions and other learning opportunities which are included as part of our CIPD Boost programme so we are very mindful of this. Thank you for sharing this insight – we appreciate it!
